Ronny Ginor, M.D.
Venture Partner at Orbimed
Ronny Ginor, M.D., is a Venture Partner with OrbiMed. Dr. Ginor has been active in the life science industry for 20+ years, with an emphasis on drug delivery platforms, vascular medicine, oncology and regulatory strategies. Most recently, Dr. Ginor served as CEO of Becker & Associates Consulting, an FDA consulting firm which was acquired by a multi-national corporation in 2012. Dr. Ginor served in the Israeli Defense Forces Unit 8200 prior to earning undergraduate and medical degrees from the George Washington University. He trained at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and published on three dimensional conformal radiation therapy of the prostate. He performed an acting internship at Stanford, where he focused on Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Dr. Ginor has patented technologies related to breast cancer, thyroid disease and cardiology.
Co-founder at Tristel
Paul Swinney is one of three co-founders of Tristel plc. Paul has been the company’s Chief Executive since its inception in 1993. Paul worked for the European banking operations of Northwest Bank Minneapolis and Maryland National Bank before joining OSI Finance as a specialist in shipping finance in 1987 and then eventually founding Tristel. Tristel is an infection prevention business headquartered in the United Kingdom, with operations worldwide. The company became listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2005. The company has pioneered the creation of high-level disinfectants that can be deployed outside of the hospital as they require no capital investment or supporting infrastructure. Tristel has become a UK market leader and is now used in 60 percent of all hospitals in the country. Paul studied business at Moorgate College in London.

Alyson Krause is on the Board of Directors of MobileODT. Alyson also serves on the Board of Intellectual Capital and on the Board as Vice President of the Cienfuegos Foundation. She currently splits her time between working as a crisis turnaround consultant for distressed companies and providing strategic guidance for technology startups. Alyson also has experience in helping funds identify early to mid-stage technology startup investment opportunities. She started her career working in Management Consulting for an international software company, followed by working at The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and SAIC.
Founder and President of the Tara Health Foundation
Ruth Shaber MD is the founder and president of the Tara Health Foundation, which promotes health, well-being and opportunity for women and girls through innovative evidence-informed programs. She is also the co-founder and board chair of Rhia Ventures, a group of foundations and investors that collaborate to bring new types of capital and enterprise to the field of reproductive health in the United States. Ruth started her career as an Obstetrician and Gynecology at the Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco Medical Center in 1990. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she had many leadership positions at Kaiser Permanente including chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Director of Women’s and founder of the Women’s Health Research Institute. Ruth was the Medical Director at the Kaiser Permanente Care Management Institute from 2007 to 2012 where she worked with Kaiser Permanente’s regional and national leaders to apply the best evidence and successful systems approaches to create reliable clinical performance. Ruth received her B.A. from Yale University and her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She served her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California in San Francisco

Ariel Beery,Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer. Dedicated to making medical care available to the billions who have access to mobile phones, but not to physicians. Before co-founding MobileODT, Ariel co-founded and served as the Global CEO of the PresenTense Group from 2005 – 2013, an accelerator for social ventures that has launched over 1000 ventures from franchise operations in sixteen cities around the world. Ariel has a B.A in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University, a MPA (Masters in Public Administration) from New York University (NYU) in Management, and an MA from NYU in Jewish Studies. Ariel teaches at the Inter-Disciplinary Center in Herziliya (IDC), and lectures in workshops about social business and startup development around the world.

David Levitz, PhD, Co-founder and Chief Science Officer: Dr. Levitz has 17+ years of experience in tissue analysis using biomedical optical methods, with specialty in OCT and spectral imaging. In addition to his roles at MobileODT, Dr. Levitz also chairs the “Optics and Biophotonics in Low Resource Settings” conference at SPIE’s annual Photonics West meetings. Dr. Levitz got a Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering/optics from the University of Rochester (Rochester, NY, USA) in 2002. He then spent 3 years working with Risø National Laboratory (Roskilde, Denmark), and Lund University (Lund, Sweden) developing an image-processing algorithm to measure optical scattering properties from optical coherence tomography (OCT) images. Using this method, Dr. Levitz identified differences between normal and atherosclerotic arterial tissues. Dr. Levitz was awarded a Whitaker scholarship for a postdoctoral fellowship in Israel.
Founder of Cytyc and Exact
Stan Lapidus is an inventor/entrepreneur who serves on a number of healthcare and medical technology boards. He’s been founding-CEO of three medical diagnostics companies including Cytyc Corp (modern pap smear), Exact Sciences (non-invasive screening for colorectal cancer) and SynapDx. He has served for many years as an instructor at MIT as well as an adjunct professor in the pathology department of Tufts University Medical School.
Stan holds 37 patents, primarily in methods for early detection of cancer. He was elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering in 2014 for his work on the early detection of cancer. Stan graduated from Cooper Union in New York City with a BS degree in electrical engineering.
Liora Bowers is the Director of Finance, Operations and Policy Analysis at one of Israel’s leading socioeconomic research centers, the Taub Center for Social Policy. Liora researches, writes and presents on healthcare policy issues in Israel, including health system financing, privatization, disease burden, and healthcare for underserved populations. Liora is also responsible for the Center’s financial, operational and HR departments. Before joining the Taub Center, Liora was the Director of Health Policy and Practice for the Berkeley Forum project, a major health reform initiative involving the largest private and public sector healthcare organizations in California. Liora has policy, strategy and investment banking experience with various for-profit and non-profit organizations, including Deloitte Consulting, Onyx Pharmaceuticals (now Amgen), the Clinton Foundation and Stanford Financial. Liora holds an MBA with honors from the Haas School of Business and an MPH from UC Berkeley. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in International Economics from Georgetown University, where she played #1 singles on the women’s Division I tennis team.

Tony currently sits on the board as an independent director for CXA Group and Savonix. As both an investor and advisor, Tony partners with Asia-focused companies who are developing solutions to change the face of cancer, human longevity, and population health with core IP stemming from AI, Genomics, Blockchain, and smart devices. His previous work within both Life Insurance (MetLife) and Pharma (Pfizer) to drive measurable business impact allows him to help entrepreneurs to enhance their product-market fit and commercial growth plans across Asian markets. Lee Newcomer, MD
US Payers strategy
Lee N. Newcomer, M.D. spends his time creating new approaches to make cancer care more effective and affordable. He utilizes expertise in medical oncology, health plan strategy and operations, health services research, finance and communications to create disruptive approaches for improved care of cancer patients. The majority of his career was with UnitedHealth Group. He was their Chief Medical Officer from 1991 to 2001 where he built the company’s medical management programs. He focused his later work on the development of performance measures and incentives for the improvement of clinical care. He returned in 2006 to lead an initiative combining clinical, financial and program management experts to focus on cancer care. This team was the first to complete an episode payment program for cancer treatment and it created the first commercial cancer database combining clinical and claims data. Prior to his work at UnitedHealth Group Dr. Newcomer practiced medical oncology for nine years in Minneapolis and Tulsa, Oklahoma. He served as the Medical Director for Cigna Healthcare, in Kansas City and he was a founding executive of Vivius, a consumer directed venture that allowed consumers to create their own personalized health plans. He is a former Chairman of Park Nicollet Health Services (HealthPartners), an integrated system of physicians and hospitals based in Minnesota with national recognition for its leadership in quality, safety and cost effectiveness. He is a director at Cellworks and Intervention Insights. Dr. Newcomer holds a B.A. degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University, a M.D. degree from the University Of Nebraska College Of Medicine and a Masters of Health Administration from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. His clinical training included an internal medicine residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a medical oncology fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine.
Cherissa Jackson served 23 years of active duty military service with 10 of those years as a U.S. Air Force Nurse. She is a veteran of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, having served a total of 3 combat deployments where she honed her expertise as a battlefield clinician. Following her honorable service, Jackson became an ambassador and advocate for persons with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She was inducted into the SHEROES United Organization Hall of Fame and traveled to Rome, Italy in November 2016 in order to collaborate with the Vatican, the Nation of Congo, and the city of Amatrice, Italy to help advance a global discussion on eliminating stigmas associated with PTSD. Jackson is the author of “At Peace Not in Pieces,” a bestselling memoir that outlines her principles of coping with her own PTSD challenges as a combat veteran and nurse. She was also named one of “25 Individuals of Influence” in the June 2018 issue of PTSD magazine and recently joined the HillVets 100 list of top influencers of 2018. She joined AMVETS on February 1, 2019 as Chief Medical Executive and leads the organization’s HEAL Program, which strives to confront the risk factors that lead to crisis and veteran suicide. She uses her experience to lead the organization’s effort to address issues related to women veterans and champion legislation that improves access to quality healthcare. Jackson is a mother of twin daughters and holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from the Medical University of South Carolina.
