Dr. Melanie Usher is a certified pathologist from Université de Bordeaux (France) with 20 years of medical practice as a pathologist at "Centre WILIC" a private Medical center she founded in 1994 in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire). From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Usher volunteered for the Red Cross for the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) in Washington, DC. In 2003, she became a fellow pathologist at the infectious and environmental department of AFIP before returning to Abidjan in 2011.
In 2012, she founded the ONG Wilic International. OWINT is a Non-Profit Organization based in Côte d’Ivoire. Dr USHER gathered a team of 22 workers with various tasks and conducted free cervical cancer screenings throughout rural areas of Côte d’Ivoire that have resulted in saving over five hundred lives and educating thousands of women on Breast Cancer Prevention.
